Painted after a recent holiday in Noosa, this work is my impressions of Noosa — the warm days, the coastal breeze, the surfers racing barefoot along the track, the jagged-edge leaves of native foliage, the dark green canopy, the glimpses of blue water, the blush pink cocktail at Capri, the kaleidoscope of bright coloured bikinis and snow cones on the beach.
I wanted to capture the relaxed, playful energy of Noosa through colour, mark making and lots of watery transparent layers. This is not a literal interpretation of Noosa - we all have cameras for that - this is about capturing the energy and soul of the place. The laidback sophistication. The muted vibrance…. Good times, good memories xx
Medium: Acrylic on canvas with oil pastel
Size: 123cm X 93cm
Hanging: framed in flooded gum
Signed: front and back
