Part of my Wild series, Notes from the Track: Moss & Rocks draws inspiration from the tracks around Fitzroy Falls. Expressive and atmospheric, this work captures the sensory experience of walking the track — the mist in the air, the damp underfoot, the muddle of rocks and the quiet drama of a landscape that is both wild and restorative. I have incorporated deep purples and lavenders into the colour palate - as purple is a colour of quiet confidence and calm. The rocks are a big part of this landscape and dominate the right of the composition. I read once “Waterfalls wouldn’t sound so melodious if there were no rocks in their way'“. I guess the same could be said about life.
Medium: Acrylic on canvas with oil pastel
Size: 100cm (H) x 120cm (W)
Hanging: beautifully framed in flooded gum, with wire and hooks for hanging
Signed: on back
